Dear LI Storm Parents and Players,  

    

     On behalf of the entire LI Storm Family, I wanted to wish you a safe, happy and healthy holiday season.  We have so many things for which to be thankful for this past year and we are excited for what lies ahead in 2012.  I am proud to announce that in 2011 we had a record number of our teams winning championships in the respected leagues and tournaments that they took part in.  This was all made possible because of the continued support, dedication, and passion that you all display for the LI Storm Program. 

 

Our coaches are ready and excited to see all of you in a couple of weeks.

            It is with great pleasure that I congratulate you for being selected to participate as a member of the Long Island Storm Travel Baseball Program for the 2012 Summer Baseball Season.  We are inviting all parents to attend our mandatory orientation and sign-up meeting that will be held at the Long Island Storm Baseball Academy, 45 Cherry Valley Avenue, West Hempstead, NY 11552 on:

At this meeting we will be discussing the following topics:

and what we will provide to meet your needs as a baseball player.

·         Our Winter Workout Program.

·        The Forming of Teams and Playing Time Philosophy.

·        The Spring & Summer Schedule and going over the anticipated number of practices, games, and tournaments.

·        The commitment that is expected from you as a Player and Parent.

·        Our Fee and Payment Plan Schedule.

·        Our Uniform and Equipment Packages.

 

Please bring a copy of your child’s birth certificate and a deposit of $200.00 (Cash, Check or CC). This will be applied to the fee and reserve your roster spot for the 2012 Travel Program

Announces Their Annual

2012 Summer Travel Baseball Tryout

Teams are available for All Ages

8U through 18U

 

The LI Storm Travel Baseball Program

is one of the most successful baseball programs in the 

Long Island/New York Metro Area.

 

Our teams participate in Perfect Game, Canes Baseball and Impact Baseball events and represent some of the most talented players around which are showcased through Storms College Recruitment Service.

 

The time and dates for each age

group WERE as follows:

8U/9U/10U/11U = Wed 10/5 7:00PM-9:00PM

12U/13U/14U/15U = Thu 10/6 7:00PM-9:30PM  

16U/17U/18U = Wed 10/12 7:00PM-9:30PM

The Make-Up Session for all ages was =

All Tryouts were held at Farmingdale College Stadium

The Storm Baseball Academy would like to congratulate the following

Storm Players for their outstanding achievements:

 

  •  Leiderman’s 17U Team

Mike Leiderman’s (owner and founder of the LI Storm)17U team earned a  9-6 victory against Marucci Elite (from Louisiana-Sun Belt Region).  Marucci Elite was currently ranked as the #1 team in the country by Perfect Game

  • Morgan Phillips (Leiderman-17U)

Morgan had his dream come true when the Reds took him in the 17th round of the Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft.  He attends Frederick Douglass Academy, a small Harlem school better known for its academics and which has had a baseball program for less than a decade. He currently has a scholarship to the College of Charleston.

  • Fernelys Sanchez (Leiderman-17U)

Fernelys who attends nationally ranked George Washington High School has just been selected as a 2nd Team All American by Baseball America.  The Perfect Game views Fernelys as a five tool player with world class speed.

  • Jake Thomas (Manning-18U)

Jake earned the Diamond Award presented to Nassau’s top player after a season in which he broke almost every record in Calhoun baseball history. Thomas batted .485 with 40 runs, eight doubles, seven home runs, 31 RBIs, and 11 stolen bases. He had a .648 on-base percentage and a .941 slugging percentage. In his three-year career, he had 112 hits, 20 home runs, 99 runs, 95 RBIs and a .465 average as the Colts compiled a 45-9 record with him behind the plate.

  • Jesse Tuozo (Leiderman-17U)

Jesse earned the Diamond Award, given to the best pitcher in Nassau after helping MacArthur to a 19-7 record and a spot in the county finals. Jesse pitched to a 7-1 record. In 47 innings, he allowed 11 runs, only five earned. He gave up 22 hits and struck out 94 batters -- that's exactly two an inning.
